Puffy Paint

So I have been seeing this puffy paint on pinterest and decided that I HAD to try it out. I had to tinker with the amount of ingredients. I followed directions, but my paint always came out too runny/liquid. I changed the amount to:

1 cup flour
1 cup salt
½  cup water
and what ever color tempera paint OR food coloring you want.

Mix all ingredients together. I chose to pour mixture into squeeze bottles. It worked well to amplify the puffiness, but it did make it a little hard to cover the picture. I allowed them to work it around with their fingers and then add a little more puffy paint on top to help out with making it look more 2D.

Oh, and I let them choose from Google clipart for the pumpkin they wanted. Once they saw this face, they all giggled and fell in love...............2nd runner up was a scary jack-o-lantern. Surprised?!?! I was!!!
I had only asked the students, because I liked so many of the clip-arts & couldn't decide. Apparently I was looking & liking the wrong ones, though. I was looking at plain jane pumpkins. :/ haha. But when I heard a kid say it had an oval mouth and crescent eyes, I knew it was perfect.
