Leaf Rubbings

We had many lessons about leaves. At the end of our unit, we did a little leaf rubbings. I read that melting old crayons into cupcake pans made perfect coloring tools for little hands when making a rubbing. Since it was a pretty hard project last year with plain ole regular crayons, I thought I would give it a try. Plus the kids loved helping strip the old & partially broken crayons. It made me feel better than just throwing them away AND they looked cool after the different colors swirled together during the baking process.
