Parts Of A Pumpkin

During the lesson we discuss the different parts of a pumpkin including: stem, tendril, rind/skin, and ribs. We discussed how we also have skin and ribs which made it easier to remember. Skin protects like ours and the ribs "look like lines just like ours", they said! We passed around different sized pumpkins and realized they all have the same parts no matter the size. After we finished looking and touching the pumpkins, we labeled our own paper pumpkin, decorated it and they were allowed to take them home.
