WiNTeR WoNDeRLaND

Tuesday, January 6, 2015!! Welcome Back!! Hope you all had a wonderful break and very happy holidays.

We just began our Winter Wonderland unit/theme.  Today we discussed when the season winter begins (Dec. 21) and that winter means short days & cold weather. The kids asked if it snowed in winter (which was on my plans for tomorrow) so we discussed today that it doesn't HAVE to snow to be winter, but IS COLD in winter and can MAYBE snow... so tomorrow we will be discussing what all it takes for snow to actually happen. 

We did make some instasnow today... pretty cool stuff! Even feels cold to the touch. On Thursday I plan for us to make our own real snow by throwing boiling water outside. (since it barely/won't get above freezing, eeek!!)  <-- Not ok!!
