Freezing temps & making snow

We made our own snow today! It was a blistering 13* this morning! Coincidentally, I planned before the break that Thursday lesson would be how snow is made. We discussed about moisture/water in the clouds and freezing temps combining to make snow. The weather worked in my favor to be able to show the students. So we did the ole throwing boiling water trick.

  • Boil water.
  • Pour in a cup... for our safety reasons.
  • Toss into freezing air!

I couldn't really take a picture & throw the water in perfect sync, so i barely captured our snow. It was much more spectacular in person!!! The kids were absolutely amazed. They all discussed that they were gonna do that at home with their mommies and daddies. Although, William was worried he would forget. Soooo, maybe you parents will read this & try it tonight with them. ;)
