Writing S and Vegetable Soup

We have been studying plants/trees/vegetables this week. This week we discussed how all plants start from a seed, grow roots, stems, leaves, buds, some grow into trees, some into flowers, and some into vegetables. Today we read The Vegetable Soup book & made our own soup for our activity. I was surprised that all my kids ate the soup!

Thursday's Question of the Day (my workstudy wrote their answers.) Forewarning teachers out there, do NOT ask this question before you have clearly discussed it is all pretend!! You may have a few tears... ;)

Letter S in "snow"

It's really foam soap that smells totally awesome, but it comes in a snowman bottle...  soooo I tell them is magic snow soap. :) Best part about it, they get to rub it in their hands afterwards and poof...germ free hands!! Until the next activity...

Bennett is 5

Also on Friday, Bennett turned 5. We had his Star Wars birthday party during snack time.

Thursday & Friday

Question of the Day: Would you rather be a penguin or a polar bear? Each child had to explain why. Their answers sounded like this: polar bears are furry & fluffy, i love their white fur, because they are so warm & fun, i love how penguins waddle, penguins have flippers.

Here is one of our alphabet videos.

We painted the letter of the week: Rr

Our journals was about all that we love about winter. Each child had to try to sound out their word, spell it, & write it.  A few of my new kids had some grown up help ;)

Stori actually sounded out cold as "KOLD" and I had her write it that way, simple because I think its wonderful she could hear all those letters.
