Reading stations

Here are some things we get to do for reading. The two station sheets discuss our skill visualization and recalling facts from a story. Then we played some games in stations. The games are matching our vocabulary words with the definition and also a game were we sort our suffixes. We think we are going to do awesome on our next test!

We also played some games on the smart board. We are discussing the sounds /ou/ and /ow/ this week. We had to sort words into the correct columns. We even had a "other" column for words that had neither. After we finished the game, we got to play a tic toe vocabulary game! That was everyone's favorite. We hope we have time to play that one again! 😀😀

St. Patrick's Day

With Unit testing and daily activities, we barely could celebrate St. Patricks. But we ended up coloring a shamrock with many different patterns. We had to cut the patterns out and then try to piece it back together. I am kicking myself for not getting any pictures!! Later, I passsed out cups of Lucky Charms and everyone had to sort & graph their charms. After we sorted we had to figure out who in the room had to the most & the least of each charm. Then we had to design a new charm we would want to add to the cereal if we could!

Math Stations

We are discussing centimeters and meters for math this week. We discovered that our door is about 1 meter or 100 centimeters. We have been using about how wide our door is to estimate whether we think something is a meter wide, bigger, or smaller. We also cut yarn a meter long to help us during our stations and we used "ones" cubes to be our centimeters. During "teacher time" we worked our math book page and we got to measure our desks and a book to find the difference.
