Science / R.O.D.

In ROD today we talked about the signs of spring. We read the book And Then It’s Spring and read the poem Sunflower Cheer. We talked about all the things outside that let’s us know it is spring time.  Dr. Minear brought in some interesting tree branches that had a lot of new growth on it. The students studied the branches with magnifying glasses, and tried to figure out what all the things were that were growing.  Since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to spend the rest of our class time outside looking for signs of spring in nature.  We found things such as flowers, clovers, blooms on trees, birds, sunlight, and more to show us spring was about to arrive! The students drew pictures and/or wrote the words of the things that they saw. It was the perfect day to do a lesson about the arrival of spring!
