Today's Lesson

Today we watched a clothing presentation by Shemshat Atayeva who is from Turkmenistan.

We learned that the men wear sheep wool hats and the women wear skullcaps. Ms. Shemshat is wearing a skull cap in the photo.

The sheep wool hats can come in colors of black, brown, or white.

Ms. Shemshat said the embroidery took her 4 months to finish. Every girl learns how to do this by learning from her mother and grandmothers.

Ms. Shemshat gave all the teachers a gift from Turkmenistan. A camel hair wool bracelet!
