Alabama State Bird... Yellowhammer

Sooo seriously listening to the story at "Listening Center"

Plants & Earth Day

We visited UWA Blackbelt Gardens on Earth Day. We discussed composting, earth worms, weeding, and stick bundling. I apologize for not having all of my class in pictures. You will notice some kids from other classes... that's because we were divided into different groups, so I only have pictures of those kids in my group.
Our celery... this was to show the students how plants drink water. If we put trash in our water, the plants and people will drink it. It also shows the process of how water travels up the stem and into the leaves where the water is stored.

Fun Facts

For The Week of the Young Child, we sent out messages in balloons. We released them on our football field and we actually got a letter back in less than a week! How cool is that!!

My friend had a little static playing in the tunnels! ;) :P

Mississippi Symphony Orchestra visited our school. We were able to hear a sample of the beautiful music they will be playing at UWA .... working video will be upload soon
